House Rules

78 on 5th is a small, owner-hosted boutique B&B set in residential Voelklip. The rules below exist to keep the lodge restful for all our guests and respectful to our neighbours.

Who Can Stay

• Children aged 6 years and older are welcome in our two family suites: The Apartment and Mountain View Suite 6.
• The Apartment has two king beds. Mountain View Suite 6 has one king bed and two twin beds.
• Suite 1, Suite 2, and Suite 3 are not configured as family suites and remain suited to guests aged 12 years and older.
• Children under 6 are not accommodated.
• Guests aged 12 – 18 are charged at the per-person sharing rate and must share with a parent or guardian.
• The lead guest must be 18 or older and check in with valid ID.

Check-in / Check-out

• Check-in: 15:00 – 19:00. Earlier or later by arrangement.
• Check-out: by 10:00 unless arranged directly with Jose.
• Please WhatsApp Jose at +27 82 725 8049 if you'll arrive outside the window.

Quiet Hours

• Quiet from 22:00 to 07:00. We're in a residential street — sound carries.
• No parties or events on the property.
• Music in rooms or by the pool kept at considerate volume.

Smoking

• No smoking or vaping inside any room or indoor area.
• Smoking permitted outside on the patio / garden, in designated areas only.
• Indoor smoking violates fire regulations and triggers a R2,000 deep-cleaning charge.

Pets

• We are unfortunately not pet-friendly. No pets in rooms or on the property.
• Trained service animals are welcome — please let us know in advance.

Pool & Garden

• Pool use at your own risk. No lifeguard. No diving.
• Pool closes at 21:00. Please don't swim outside these hours.
• No glass at the pool — use the unbreakable ware we provide.

Parking

• On-site secure parking is included.
• Vehicles parked at guests' own risk; the lodge holds no liability for theft or damage in line with industry standard.

Breakfast

• Breakfast is an optional extra and can be added when booking through NightsBridge.
• Breakfast served daily from 08:00 to 10:00.
• Dietary requirements: let us know at booking or by 18:00 the day before. We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and most allergies.

Visitors

• Day visitors are welcome until 21:00 with prior notice to Jose.
• Overnight visitors require booking the additional guest at the per-person rate.

Damage & Loss

• Guests are liable for damage caused during their stay beyond normal wear.
• Lost room key: R250 replacement fee.
• Please report any breakage promptly — we appreciate the honesty.

Wi-Fi

Free, fast Wi-Fi throughout. Password on the welcome card in your room. Please use responsibly — no illegal downloads, no streaming of large content during peak load-shedding hours.
